Full mortise
- For use with wood or hollow metal doors
- Both hinge leaves are mortised (one in the door edge and one in the frame rabbet)
Half mortise (mortise in door)
- One hinge leaf is mortised into the door edge and one leaf is surface applied to the frame face
- Normally used with steel frames that cant be mortised or when a door is rehung and previous hinge locations on the frame must be avoided
Half surface (surface on door)
- One hinge leaf is surface mounted to the door surface and one leaf is mortised into the frame rabbet
- Used where the door cannot be mortised
Continuous hinges
- New construction and retrofit
- For use on heavy or high frequency use doors
- Continuous vertical support distributes the door weight evenly and helps prevent sagging
- Standard hinge lengths are 1 less the door opening height
- Models available for use on lead lined doors
- Available with fire ratings up to 3 hours/ULA

Spring hinges
- A hinge containing one or more springs to move the door into the closed position
- Types available for single or double acting doors
- Closes door and eliminates the need for a closer
- May not meet ADA requirements for opening force
Electric transfer hinges & pivots
- For transferring electrical power to hardware mounted on the doors, such as electric locks, electric exit devices, electric strikes when mounted on the inactive leaf of a pair of doors
- Monitoring hinges are also available; can monitor door position
Offset hung pivot sets
- Supplied with bottom and top pivot as a set
- Various offsets available (3/4 and 1 1/2 most common)
- For use on doors weighing up to 1000 lbs.
- Can be used on fire door assemblies up to 3 hours

Reinforcing pivot
