Certified Fire Door Inspections Now Offered by LaForce
Building codes are changing rapidly – including the new requirement that door openings be inspected annually – and local jurisdictions are starting to adopt these new codes. That is why LaForce is offering its Fire Door Inspection service.
Architects and owners are finding that they need to rely on companies like LaForce who have the expertise in the design and function of door openings. LaForce's certified Fire Door Assembly Inspectors (FDAI) will examine a building's fire door openings to be sure that the openings are functioning as intended and meet local building codes for fire safety.
Often, owners change or remove hardware from fire doors and unknowingly compromise the building and the safety of its occupants. Having a certified member from our staff review code compliance within a building not only helps the building owner meet changing building codes, but it also helps owners avoid potential liability issues.
Currently, the annual inspection of door openings is mainly about fire doors, but in the very near future it will also include inspections of doors that are to function in a means of egress. If you are interested in having your building inspected by one of our certified fire door assembly inspectors, please call your LaForce sales representative or Joe Ambrosius at 1-800-236-8858.
